At Forfar on the 29th day of May, 1885 in the presence of Alexander Robertson, Esquire, Advocate, Sheriff Substitute of the County of Forfar. Compeared Mr John Sheill, Solicitor, Brechin, as procurator and given in the Inventory and Oath and Settlement after copied to be recorded in the Register of Inventories and kept at Forfar for the Commisssariot of Forfar in terms of Law and whereof the tenor follows viz: Inventory of the Personal Estate wharesoever situated of Miss Christina Jamieson Montrose Street, Brechin, on the 22nd day of May 1885

At Brechin on the 29th day of May 1885, in the presence of John Lamb Esquire, one of Her Majesties Justice of Peace for the County of Angus, Appeared David Scott, Manufacturer, Brechin, Executor of Deceased Christina Jamieson, sometime residing in South Esk Street, Brechin, afterwards in Montrose Street, Brechin, there who being solemnly sworn and examined, deposed that the said Christina Jamieson died unmarried at Brechin , domiciled in Scotland, upon the 22nd day of May, 1885. That the deponent was entered upon the possession and management of the deceaceds Estate as Executor nominated by her along with Henry Jamieson, Coal Merchant now or lately of Trades Lane, Dundee and James Don, writer, Brechin in a General Disposition and Settlement executed by her upon the 24th day of March 1880, which is now exhibited and signed by the Deponent and the J.P. of this date as relative here:-
That the Deponent does not know of any Testamentary Settlement or writing relative to the disposal of the deceased's personal Estate or Effects or any part thereof other than the said General Disposition and Settlement.
That the foregoing Inventory signed by the said J.P. as relative hereto is a full and complete Inventory of the (cont) (the) Personal Estate and Effects of the said deceased Christina Jamieson. wheresoever situated and belonging ordinarily to her beneficially at the time of her death in so far as the same has come to the Deponents knowledge.
That the Deponent does not know of any money or property belonging to the deceased secured by Scottish Bonds or other Instruments excluding Executors
That the said deceased had no Heritable Estate in this country in so far is known to the Deponent
That the value at this date of the said personal estate a & effects situated in the United Kingdom including the proceeds accrued thereon down to this date is £450 and does not exceed £500 Sterling.
That confirmation of the said personal estate is required in favour of the Deponent and the said Henry Jamieson and James Don, all which is truth as the Deponent shall answer to God.

I Christina Jamieson, residing in South Esk Street, Brechin, in order to settle my affairs after my decease, to hereby give grant, assign and dispone to and in favour of David Scott, Manufacturer, Newington, Brechin, Henry Jamieson, Coal Merchant, now or latterly at Trades Lane, Dundee and James Don, Writer, Brechin or the accepters or acceptor survivors or survivor of them as Trustees fro the end uses and purposes after mentioned and to their assignees. All and Sundry Lands and heritages goods and year debts and sums of money in general the whole means Estate and Effects, heritable and moveable, real and personal belonging to me or of which I have possessed with the writs, titles, vouchers and securities thereof and I hereby nominate and appoint the said David Scott, Henry Jamieson, and James Don and here foresaid to be my Executors But declaring that these present and granted in trust only for the following ends, uses and purposes. First for payment of all my just and lawful debts, deathbed and funeral expenses and all expenses connected with my affairs. Second I direct may said Trustees to. (Cont)

(to) make payment of the following legacies namely:
To David Jamieson, youngest son of my Brother, the late Alexander Jamieson, Builder, Brechin, the sum of £200 Sterling and that on his attaining the age of 21 years complete with the interest accruing thereon from day to day of my decease and the payment thereof: Declaring that the said sum shall become vested in the said James Don and Henry Jamieson if he shall survive me and the same shall transmit to his Executors as assigned although he shall die before the age of 21 years complete.
Items: to each of my cousins: Mary Jamieson and Jane Jamieson both residing in Dundee and there respective heirs the sum of £19.19.0.Sterling.
Item: to my cousin David Jamieson residing in Edinburgh and his heirs the sum of £10 Sterling.
Item: to Christina Milne, residing in Montrose Street, Brechin the sum of £5 Sterling.
Item: to Christina Scott, residing in South Port, Brechin £5 Sterling.
Item: I leave the sum of £100 to and among such poor persons and charitable objects within the Parish of Brechin or elsewhere as the said David Scott and James Don or the survivors of them shall think most deserving of assistance, the same to be divided among them in such proportions as the said David Scott and James Don or their survivors shall think fit and
lastly, after payment of my debts, deathbed and funeral expenses the expense of managing this trust and Legacies and provisions foresaid, I appoint the Trustees under this Settlement to assign and dispone the free residue and remainder of my Estate heritable and moveable real and personal above conveyed to and in favour of my nephew William Jamieson, eldest son of the said Alexander Jamieson and his heirs Executors and successors whomsoever with power to use the said Trustees to enter into possession of the said Trust Estate to call sue for uplift and receive the principal sums of all Debts heritable and moveable hereby conveyed and Interest and Annual profits of the same and to grant discharges thereof which shall be as valid and effectual to the receivers as if granted by myself. With power also to the said trustees to sell or dispose of the Trust, Estate and Effects and that either by public roup or private bargain. Declaring that the person or persons who as debtors or purchases foresaid shall pay to the said Trustees any sum or sums of money shall be concerned with the application of the same or with any of the conditions or provisions hereof but shall be sufficiently exonered by the simple receipt and discharge of the said trustees. With power also to the said Trustees to invest the Trust Funds so far as necessary for the purposes hereof in the purchaser of the Sock and Preference or Debenture of any Railway Company in Great Britain or in such other way the said Trustees shall consider safe and proper or to retain the same in Bank: With power also to the said Trustees to appoint Factors & Agents either (cont)

(either) of their own number or other fit persons for the management of Trust Estate and I nominate and appoint the said David Scott, Henry Jamieson and James Don or the acceptors or acceptor survivors or survivor of them to be Tutors and curators to all pupils and minors who may derive right or benefit under these presents during their respective pupillarities and minorities: And I declare that the Trustees shall not be liable for not doing exact diligence nor for the insolvency of debtors but each of them for his own actual intromissions only. And I reserve my life rent and full power to alter or cancel these presents at pleasure: And I dispense with the delivery hereof and consent to registration and preservation in witness hereof these presents written on this and the preceding page by James Don, writer, Brechin and subscribed by me at Brechin the 24th day of March 1880 before these witnesses: James Young, seedsman Brechin and John McGeachin accountant, Clydesdale Bank,, Brechin.
